A portal is a Web site that provides end users with a single point of access to Web-based
resources by aggregating those resources in one place and by requiring that users log in only
to the portal itself and not to each application (called portlets) they use. WebSphere Portal
is middleware, applications (portlets), and development tools for building and managing secure
business-to-business (B2B), business-to-consumer (B2C), and business-to-employee (B2E) portals.
Lotus Sametime provides instant messaging, shared white boards, and application sharing
for electronic meetings. Lotus QuickPlace provides workspaces for sharing and organizing ideas,
content, and tasks. Both Lotus Sametime and Lotus QuickPlace functionalities are integrated
into WPS as portlets.
This course focuses on how to install, configure, integrate, and administer Lotus Domino,
Lotus Sametime and Lotus QuickPlace to work with WPS and how to use the corresponding portlets.
It also covers the Collaborative Component API that allows portlet developers to utilize
Lotus collaborative components in their portlets.
This course is highly hands-on. 60% of the time will be spent on doing labs. |
