Description |
This one-day, hands-on workshop teaches the RequisitePro tool for capturing and managing project requirements. Exercises reinforce concepts presented in the "Defining & Managing Requirements with Use Cases" training class. Students also use the tool to apply software development best practices as recommended by the Unified Process. Students define document and requirement types, define requirements and attributes, create RequisitePro documents, import project data, explore hierarchical relationships, and examine traceability. All class exercises focus on learning how to successfully apply the tool in a work environment.
Some of the tasks included in this course are:
- Introduction to Requirements Management Workflow and RequisitePro Product
- Analyze the Problem/Establish the Project
- Understand Stakeholder Needs/Gather requirements
- Define the System/ RequisitePro documents
- Manage Scope/Views and Traceability Refine the System/Metrics and Offline Authoring
- Manage Changing Requirements/ Group discussions RequisiteWeb/Summary (no lab)

- Define and create a project with RequisitePro
- Understand how to capture and document project related functional requirements with RequisitePro
- Understand how to set up a documentation hierarchy and standards for defining the different levels of requirements for a product using RequisitePro
- Understand the architecture of a simple requirements management system, linking documents to a central requirement repository, which maintains requirement attributes and traceability as presented in RequisitePro.
- Understand how to use a requirement attributes and traceability links in RequisitePro to help manage scope and manage change throughout the life cycle of the product.
